Official slides for AMD’s R9 Nano GPU have recently been leaked, confirming the GPUs specifications and showing best in class MITX performance. AMD’s R9 “Fury” Nano will be using AMD’s full Fiji GPU core with 4096 GCN GPU cores, which is a massive chip for such a small GPU, taking up a large section of this GPUs PCB.

This GPU manages to have a TDP of 100w lower than AMD’s Fury X GPU, which uses the same number of GPU cores, but the Fury X does so at a higher clock speed. The R9 Nano will be AMD’s most efficient GPU yet, having 2x the performance per watt of AMD’s previous flagship, the R9 290X, and used the new HBM memory technology to allow this GPU to be created in a tiny form factor.

AMD’s R9 Nano will be a very interesting GPU for many reasons, it’s very low power consumption, it’s tiny form factor and its performance. The question is what will critics think about it?
