Nvidia shows its RTX 3080 running DOOM Eternal at 4K – Big Performance Boost

Nvidia has just released a video to showcases the performance of their upcoming RTX 3080 graphics card in DOOM Eternal, offering average framerates of around 120 FPS at 4K maximum settings, Better still, this feat was achieved without the need for the company’s DLSS technology. 

Within this video, which is embedded below, Nvidia also showcased the performance of their current generation flagship, the RTX 2080 Ti, revealing significantly lower framerates in like-for-like scenes. One area had Nvidia’s RTX 2080 Ti running at 102 FPS, while the RTX 3080 ran the game at 140 FPS during the same scene. 

Nvidia’s RTX 3080 has an MSRP of £649, while the RTX 2080 Ti has an MSRP of £1,149. With this video, Nvidia has not only shown that their RTX 3080 can deliver gamers significantly more performance, but does so at a much more affordable price. Nvidia’s offering gamers more performance and better value for money with Ampere, both in rasterised and RTX accelerated workloads.  
  
For DOOM Eternal, Nvidia’s RTX 3080 appears to be an ideal graphics card for 4K 120Hz gameplay. With support for both HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4, this resolution/framerate combo is possible across a wide range of displays, which is great news for those who enjoy high resolutions and faster than 60Hz refresh rates. 

Nvidia’s RTX 3080 will be released on September 17th.
