Nvidia's latest driver packs major performance boosts to recent titles

Nvidia's GPU drivers are now ready for the RTX Super series of graphics cards, and with this release, Nvidia plans to deliver their users a large number of performance optimisations, each of which delivers Geforce users boosted performance in some of today's latest releases. 

In Metro Exodus, Nvidia's latest driver is said to pack up to 31% more performance than their previous release, promising an average improvement of 14.6% over their launch driver and 10.5% more performance than their previous driver. Strange Brigade players will also see boosted performance, with Nvidia promising a 7.7% performance boost over their last Game Ready driver while The Division 2 players will see a 3.6% performance boost.  

Alongside these performance optimisations, Nvidia will also see three new monitors receive official G-Sync Compatible accreditation. These newly-validated models include the LG's 34GL750HP's 25mx, and HP's Omen X 25f.

Game Ready

Provides the optimal gaming experience for Tom Clancy's The Division 2, StrangeBrigade, and Metro Exodus.

Gaming Technology

- Adds support for three new G-SYNC compatible monitors.
- Adds support for GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER and RTX 2070 SUPER GPUs.

Metro Exodus and The Division 2 Performance Optimizations


In each driver release we introduce performance improvements for the games you’re still playing, and those that are about to be released.

For our newest driver, NVIDIA’s expert engineers have cooked-up some particularly noteworthy optimizations that increase performance in Metro Exodus, Strange Brigade and The Division 2 by up to 12% on average compared to our previous driver, and by up to 16% on average compared to the GeForce RTX 20-Series launch driver released in August 2018:

- In Metro Exodus, performance increases by up to 31% compared to our launch driver, with overall average improvements across all tested resolutions and GPUs of 14.6% compared to the launch driver, and 10.5% compared to our previous Game Ready Driver.
- In Strange Brigade, performance increases by up to 13.7% compared to our launch driver, with overall average improvements of 9.2% compared to the launch driver and 7.7% compared to our previous Game Ready Driver.
- In Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, performance increases by up to 11.3% compared to our launch driver, with overall average improvements of 6.7% compared to the launch driver and 3.6% compared to our previous Game Ready Driver.

Open Issues in Version 431.36 WHQL


As with every released driver, version 431.36 WHQL of the Release 430 driver has open issues and enhancement requests associated with it. This section includes lists of issues that are either not fixed or not implemented in this version. Some problems listed may not have been thoroughly investigated and, in fact, may not be NVIDIA issues. Others may have workaround solutions.

For notebook computers, issues can be system-specific and may not be seen on your particular notebook.

- [NVIDIA Control Panel]: When the 3D Settings page->Vertical Sync setting is set to Adaptive Sync (half refresh rate), V-Sync works only at the native refresh rate after rebooting the system. [2543187]

- [World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth]: Terrain and icons flicker randomly in the game. [2633205]
