Nvidia's GTX 1000m series of GPUs are rumoured to launch at Gamescom

Nvidia's GTX 1000m series of mobile GPUs are rumoured to launch at Gamescom 2016, an event that will take place on August 17th-21st in Cologne Germany.

These new GPUs will finally bring the increased efficiency of the Pascal Architecture to the mobile computing market space, allowing system makers to release laptops and ultra small form factor PCs with GPUs with decreased power consumption and thermal output or increased gaming performance.

Recently the specification of Nvidia's GTX 1070M were leaked online, showcasing a GPU with more CUDA cores than the GTX 1070 that run a slightly lower clock speeds.

This means that the GTX 1070 and GTX 1070M will offer similar performance while using different GPU configurations. These two GPU configurations were likely made to better optimise the power draw of the mobile version while still achieving the performance that Nvidia desired for the desktop version.

Below is a table comparing the specifications of the GTX 1070 compared to these leaked specifications for the GTX 1070M alongside the rumoured specifications of Nvidia's GTX 1060 and 1060M.

At this time we do have any confirmation on when Nvidia plans to launch their mobile pascal GPU lineup, but seems increasingly likely that it will be sooner rather than later.

Right now we have already seen several hardware manufacturers tease mobile Pascal GPUs and have already heard reports that the mobile Pascal launch may be coming soon
