Nvidia Pascal GP106 based GPUs rumoured to arrive in August

Nvidia Pascal GP106 based GPUs rumored to arrive in August, replacing the GM206 Maxwell based GTX 960 and GTX 950. These new GPUs will make up the mid-range of Nvidia's Pascal GPU lineup.

What is interesting about these new GPUs is that they may not need any power other than what is provided by your motherboard's PCI lane, as some GPUs using existing GM-206 silicon can already function without any PCI-e power.  These power reductions will be due to the architectural changes made in Pascal and Nvidia's use of TSMC's 16nm FinFET Transistors

(Pictures of the Shroud used of Nvidia's rumored GTX 1080 GPU were leaked earlier today)

These new GPUs are rumored to come after Nvidia's launch of their high-end GTX Pascal GPUs, with current rumors suggesting that the GTX 1060 will release in August.

It will probably be a bit like the 950s where some are standard and just use the PCI slot for power and others still have the six pin.Quote
