Nvidia officially reveals their RTX 2060 Graphics Card

It's finally here, Nvidia has finally unveiled their RTX 2060 graphics card, the latest addition to their Turing graphics lineup, bringing bespoke Ray Tracing performance to lower price points than ever before.

Nvidia's RTX 2060 Founders Edition will ship on January 15th for $349 (for Founders Edition), packing 5 Gigarays of Ray Tracing performance, placing the graphics card not that far behind the RTX 2070.

The graphics card will offer 1920 CUDA cores and 6GB of 14Gbps GDDR6 memory, delivering a 75% increase in memory bandwidth over the standard 6GB GTX 1060. When looking at CUDA core count, the RTX 2060 offers a 50% increase in CUDA cores over the GTX 1060, a staggering increase generation-over-generation, though it is worth noting that the RTX 2060 is significantly more expensive than the GTX 1060 6GB.

Nvidia's RTX 2060 will support Nvidia RTX ray tracing using RT cores and DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) using AI optimised Tensor cores. During Nvidia's keynote, Nvidia confirmed that Anthem will support DLSS. DLSS support is also coming to Battlefield V, negating the performance impact of RTX Ray Tracing using the power of AI, enabling 60+ FPS gameplay on Battlefield V with RTX on!

"better performance than the 1080 Ti" he said lol!! I must have transfered universes in my sleep... Such marketing. I'm always iffy towards his keynotes.Quote

Yeah, somebody needs to follow him with a speech bubble that says (in specific use cases).

I remember him comparing it to a GTX 1070 Ti, but I don't remember the GTX 1080 Ti comparison.Quote

He compared it with 1070 Ti for sure, but i think that he also said that one of announced 2060 laptops (acer one?) is faster then desktop 1080. I'm not 100% sure to be honest.Quote

Digital foundry's video is pretty good. In new games it can outperform 1080, but in some older titles it is often head to head against a 1070 Ti.Quote

This actually isn't a bad card. I mean, it's still too expensive but it at least isn't as bad as the rest of them and has DLSS and RT capabilities however limited that may be. Why would you pay £500-600 compared to £350-450 for only slightly better performance? You can overclock the RTX 2060 to be as fast as for all intents and purposes as an RTX 2070.Quote
