Nvidia Next Geforce launch is "a long time from now"

Nvidia's Pascal architecture is over two years old, and so far the company has shown no signs that a replacement is coming. Today, Nvidia remains dominant in the graphics card market, leaving the company in a position where they do not need to need to release new hardware to stay competitive.

During their Computex 2018 press conference, Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, was asked then their next generation of Geforce graphics cards are coming to market. In response, Huang stated that it was "A long time from now", confirming that the company will say nothing about their next-generation hardware at Computex.

In recent weeks the price of Nvidia graphics cards has decreased significantly, returning pricing to what could be considered "normal" before the mining boom, allowing gamers to once again purchase graphics cards as normal.

Moving onto the topic of real-time Ray Tracing, Nvidia also stated that it would take "some time" to shrink the compute power that is required to run today's real-time Ray Tracing demo, which currently runs on four Volta V100 graphics cards to run. So make sure to buy our 2 year old tech! Why is AMD not capitalising on this somehow? They should be releasing something just to say "we got the newest stuff"Quote

Well this will hurt the 2nd hand market. Once new cards are announced nobody will want to buy 2-3 year old tech unless it's a 1080ti or higher.Quote

Which will then perform worse than a 1080 or 1080 Ti while costing 100€ more...Quote
