When Nvidia announced their Pascal series of GPUs it was clear that the world of mobile gaming would be forever changed. While the company did not launch Pascal on mobile platforms initially their low TDPs and increased efficiency meant one thing, that mobile platforms could finally offer desktop-grade gaming performance. 
 
Pascal is the first generation of Nvidia GPUs where both mobile and desktop versions of GPUs offered the same performance, with a mobile GTX 1080 offering the same performance as a desktop 1080, finally giving mobile gamers enthusiast grade GPU performance. 
 
Now Nvidia has launched their new GTX 1050 and GTX 1050Ti series mobile GPUs, both offering up to 4GB of VRAM and specifications that are nigh identical to their desktop counterparts. In fact, Nvidia's mobile variants actually come with boost clock speeds than their desktop variants, with both the mobile GTX 1050 coming with boost clocks that are 38MHz higher than its desktop equivalent and the GTX 1050Ti coming with base clocks and boost clocks that are 203MHz and 228MHz higher respectively.

Below is a table that lists the specifications of Nvidia's GTX 1050 and GTX 1050Ti, highlighting the difference between their mobile and desktop versions. 

Both desktop and mobile GTX 1050/1050Ti GPUs will be made on the same Samsung 14nm FinFET manufacturing process. As you can see in the table below Nvidia's GTX 1050Ti gets a significant clock speed increase on mobile, which should allow it to perform like an overclocked desktop variant.

CES 2017 will be filled with new notebooks which carrying Nvidia's new GTX 1050 series mobile GPUs, offering Pascal GPUs to a whole new section of the market. It is expected that Nvidia will make additional announcements at their CES keynote on January 5th at 2.30am GMT.
