Next Generation GPUs from both AMD and Nvidia are reportedly due to launch in September

According to a report from Digitimes, both AMD and Nvidia will be ready to launch next-generation graphics cards this September, bringing forward all-new designs from both manufacturers.

Videocardz has rightly pointed out that Digitimes hasn't specified these new graphics cards as "Gaming" products, though both AMD and Nvidia are expected to release new gaming products before the end of the year. These new products will be based on AMD's RDNA 2 and Nvidia's Ampere architectures.

It is possible that Nvidia and AMD will release professional-grade graphics hardware at this time, with AMD launching a CDNA (Compute DNA) design while Nvidia focuses on new Quadro GPU models. That said, both manufacturers will be rushing to prepare graphics cards for launch before the release of Microsoft's Xbox Series X and Sony's PlayStation 5 consoles.  If they achieve this, they will have delivered next-generation PC gaming hardware before consoles can catch up.

AMD was expected to disclose more information about RDNA 2 at Computex and E3 2020, two events which have been, for the most part, cancelled. It is possible that these new graphics architectures from AMD and Nvidia could be discussed at Gamescom 2020, which has largely moved to become an online-only event.

That would be good news. Although I have assumed I will play CP2077 on my RX 480, I was expecting them to come around October. I wish they have plenty of stock in Europe.Quote

Nice, I'll wait a month or so after AMD's big Navi comes out for prices and drivers to stabilize Quote

I've been waiting for that since the 90s, don't hold your breath. Quote

I'm still wondering whether current RDNA GPUs will continue on with a refresh or whether there will be a direct replacement for the 5700XT.Quote
