This is not the first budget MSI GTX 980Ti that MSI has created, releasing the GTX 980Ti V1 GPU earlier this year. This model is a much more aesthetically pleasing GPU, with a cooler which looks like it is much more capable than the blower fan on the reference style cooler of the V1.

One other thing to note is that this version of Nvidia's GTX 980Ti has a higher base and boost frequency, with over 200MHz higher base and boost clocks. With such a bump in clock speed thsi version should perform significantly better than MSI's other value oriented GTX 980Ti.

Now that is a damn good looking card, I wish MSI had given the same designers the Z170 design job...Quote

This! But hey, at least they still have the same child naming the products!

I do wonder what exactly makes this card 'armoured'? Or is this just MSI coming up with a more spectacular word for backplate? Does look good though and competitive products are always good!Quote

What the bloody hell is an "Armor2X OC"... I think someone at MSI needs to quit their job.Quote

In all honesty it should just be called the Krait. It just makes sense that way.Quote
