When Nvidia revealed their initial list of "G-Sync Compatible" monitors, it left many wondering how many adaptive sync displays were compatible with G-Sync but were simply untested by Nvidia? Nvidia's "400 tested" displays didn't cover every Adaptive-Sync monitor on the market, a factor that left a lot of uncertainty surrounding Nvidia "G-Sync Compatible" ecosystem.

To help clarify things, MSI has been "constantly testing Adaptive Sync monitors", to determine whether or not their Adaptive Sync displays are G-Sync compatible. Note that MSI's never stated that Nvidia certified their monitors, but the company remains convinced that the vast majority of their gaming displays are G-Sync Compatible, testing each of them across three graphics cards to prove it.

The list below details whether or not each of MSI's Adaptive Sync monitors is G-Sync compatible, finding that 16 out of their 18 Adaptive Sync screens function with Nvidia's GTX 10 series and RTX 20 series graphics cards with G-Sync enabled. Each of these displays was tested using MSI RTX 2070 Ventus 8G, MSI RTX 2080 Ventus 8G and MSI GTX 1080 Gaming 8G graphics cards.

Following NVIDIA's announcement of their newest drivers, MSI monitors are effectively G-Sync Compatible! This technology allows G-Sync to be used on Adaptive Sync monitors.

G-Sync, an anti-tearing, anti-flickering and anti-stuttering monitor technology designed by NVIDIA, was once only exclusive to monitors that had passed the NVIDIA certification. With the newest release of NVIDIA GPU driver, NVIDIA now allows G-Sync to be used on monitors that support Adaptive Sync technology when they are connected to an NVIDIA graphics card.

At the moment, not all Adaptive Sync monitors on the market are perfectly G-Sync Compatible. MSI, on the other hand, has been constantly testing Adaptive Sync monitors to determine if they are G-Sync Compatible. Below are the test results.

While this doesn't appear to be an official stamp of approval from Nvidia, this news from MSI should set the minds of their users at ease and make their customers more confident about purchasing the brand's latest adaptive sync gaming displays with Nvidia graphics cards.

Please note that Nvidia's G-Sync Compatible feature only works on Nvidia 10 series and 20 series (or newer) graphics cards and requires DisplayPort, Geforce 417.71 drivers or newer and Microsoft's Windows 10 OS to function correctly.
