Mass Effect Andromeda will ditch the Paragon/Renegade system

The universe is not always separated into black and white, Paragon or Renegade or good and evil, most of the time people choose between various shades of grey. As people, we do not know how our choices will affect us down the line, be it for better of worse.

In Mass Effect: Andromeda Bioware's Creative Director, Mac Walters, has stated that they will be moving away from the series' traditional Paragon/Renegade choice system, deciding to go for something that is more dynamic and has no obvious light and darker options.

I think now we’re moving away from that,

We’ve been looking for other ways to engage more of those shades of grey; less about it being obviously being right or wrong and more about giving people a sense of choice.

[Gamers are] looking for more of those shades of grey,

It seems that with Mass Effect: Andromeda Bioware want to take a more Witcher 3 style approach to choices, where the long-term consequences are unknown to the player, giving the player more surprises and a less predictable gaming experience.

Mass Effect Andromeda will ditch the Paragon/Renegade system

At E3 EA released their newest trailer for Mass Effect 3, showcasing how the game will bring the Mass Effect franchise into the current generation of consoles and into a whole new galaxy.

Mass Effect Andromeda will be built on the Frostbite Engine and aims to give players a level of freedom that has never been seen before in the franchise as players will decide exactly where, when and how they explore the Andromeda Galaxy, where players will meet new allies, encounter new enemies and explore all new worlds.

In this new game, players will be leaving the Milky Way behind, taking the heavily story driven Mass Effect Franchise into a whole new galaxy of possibilities, which alongside new console and PC hardware will allow the game to deliver a deep new story alongside great new visuals and gameplay.

A whole new galaxy awaits for you to explore. Mass Effect: Andromeda pushes the boundaries of known space into the next generation, delivering distant star systems with remote and hostile planets ripe for discovery.

Right now full details on Mass Effect Andromeda are sparse but recently leaked gameplay has shows that the game will include fast-paced combat, a jetpack, and more realistic visuals.
