Just Cause 3 has now been "cracked" with the Denuvo DRM Bypass

Just Cause 3 has now been "cracked" with the Denuvo DRM Bypass, allowing this Denuvo protected game to be pirated online.

This adds Just Cause 3 to the very small list of games which utilise Denuvo's anti-tampering technology that are now pirate-able online, though it looks like this method of bypassing Demuvo's DRM may not be functional for long.

This "crack"/ DRM Bypassing method has been created by a Bulgarian hacker called Voksi, who has already released cracked versions of both DOOM and Rise of the Tomb Raider, allowing the games to be run illegally.

This Denuvo Bypassing method exploits a bug in Steam which allows users to play the full game while Steam thinks that the game is a free demo version. Right now it looks like this crack could be easily fixed with a Steam update, so Denuvo's protection may be fixed as soon as Valve become aware of the issue and develop a fix.

Denuvo has been cracked

At OC3D we do not condone piracy and think that crack is an overall a negative for the games industry. As such we will not be linking to any "cracked" games or any sites that share them. We will also not tolerate the linking of these sites on the OC3D Forums.

Moving forward it will be interesting to see if this Denuvo crack will remain functional, as it seems that a simple Steam update could prevent this bypass of Denuvo's DRM. At this time the crack is exclusive to Steam games and even then just DOOM, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Just Cause 3 at this time.

So I have done some reading. Apparently they're all done by a guy called Yoksi or something and all involve the same workaround. IE, a live Steam account that you use a trigger EXE to download the game and updates with and then a hack to tell Steam you are playing a free demo version. So you're probably right, Steam will no doubt patch this out and we will be back to where we were two days ago with Denuvo.

Thing is I really wouldn't want to go to all of the aggro to run these games any way. It obviously involves using a fake IP to play from and I would bet there are tons of divvies out there who didn't do that and will probably end up losing their real accounts also.

Is it really worth all that messing around for the sake of £20-£30? These games are not what you would consider small either. Between the three of them you're looking at over a hundred gigabytes in data to download too.Quote

The thing is you say just £20-£30 but then you miss the £30-£40 of DLC, yes I know not all is for the single player game but still it adds up and puts me off buying games these daysQuote

If a game is good and I want the DLC I will buy it. Usually they come with it any way for £20-£30 if you know where to look. There are various key sites around the internet that I use.

There is no excuse for piracy any more. Not now that Steam have their refund policy finally in place and allow you to get a refund if you play it for less than a few hours and don't like it/have issues etc. I used to download expensive games to make sure they worked etc as getting a refund on games was impossible but yeah, since Steam did that I've not downloaded anything.

With everything else in life if you can't afford it you don't get it. So stealing is stealing no matter what.Quote

My point was to your just £20-£30 and these days it's not just that.

I don't steal, I borrow then return them to the interweb ether /jk

I can't remember the last game I borrowed tbh. steam sales and key sites makes it pointless, and the games I play I know the hours i will get out of them so i buy them.Quote
