Intel releases their 15.60 Graphics Driver for Okami HD

In recent months Intel's graphics division has been kicked into overdrive, kickstarting a segment within Intel that has been all but dead within the company for quite some time from the consumer's perspective.

With the release of Kaby Lake Intel's integrated graphics solution was upgraded to support modern Video codecs and 4K video playback, showcasing Intel's focus on the media side of graphics rather than the gaming side. This is something that is starting to change within Intel, with Intel releasing Coffee lake with significant boosts to GPU clock speeds and an increased focus on GPU drivers, something that has been seemingly ignored by Intel for quite some time. When was the last time you ever considered updating your Intel GPU drivers?

With the release of Okami HD, Intel has now delivered their 15.60 ( graphics drivers for Windows 10 64-bit, providing some new features for Intel graphics like shader caching as well as bug fixes for several modern gaming titles.

- DX11* shader caching feature: Provides load time and playability improvements across multiple games
- Updated control panel to showcase the latest games optimized for Intel® Graphics
- DX11* performance improvements, improving CPU usage

- Intermittent crashes or hangs may occur in The Surge*, Rise of the Tomb Raider*, SOMA*, SiSoft Sandra Benchmark*, Handbrake* (during AVC/HEVC transcode), or during playback of 3D video
- Graphics anomalies may be observed in Civilization 6* (DX11*), Forza 7* (DX12*), Talos Principle* (DX12*), and in Sony Catalyst Edit* during playback of video clips
- Intermittent crashes may be observed if 2 or more virtual displays are active Screen flickering may be observed when system resumes from standby
- After waking from sleep while connected to a KVM* switch, display may appear blank

This "gaming-focused" driver points towards a future where Intel wants to deliver competitive graphics offerings with their CPUs, or at a minimum combat the gaming prowess of AMD's new Rzyen Mobile series of CPUs, which contain Vega graphics modules.

Intel's new 15.60 GPU driver can be downloaded here, but please check in advance that your CPU officially supports this software.
