FreeSync will launch on March 19th with a new Driver

FreeSync will launch on Match 19th with a new Catalyst Driver. At present several FreeSync Monitors are already on sale here in the UK, with a 1440p BenQ model already shipping.

FreeSync is AMD's new solution to the problems associated with VSYNC and screen tearing, which allows your monitor to have an display an adaptive framerate, which gives user a better gaming experience.

Currently there are 3 models available in the UK, first there is the BenQ XL2730Z, which is a 27 inch, 1440p, 144Hz TN monitor with a 1ms response time. It is currently priced at £499.99, which is cheap compared to £619.99 ROG Swift, which is it's G-Sync Rival with almost identical specs. This monitor is shipping right now, so early adopters better get their orders in now.

The second monitor is the LG 34UM67, a 34 inch, 2560x1080 monitor which has an IPS panel and a sRGB 99% colour gamut. This monitor should be arriving at Overclockers UK any day now and will cost £499.99.

The 3rd and final monitor on the store shelves of Overclockers UK is the Acer Predator XG270HU, another 27 inch, 1440p, 144Hz monitor which has a TN Panel and 1ms response time. This monitor comes with the price tag of £429.95, but sadly is only set to arrive at the end of this month.

The wait for adaptive framerate monitors are almost over. AMD's FreeSync Driver will release on March 19th but will contain one fairly major flaw, as it will not support FreeSync with crossfire configurations. A driver that will enable FreeSync for a Crossfire configuration will not arrive until the following month.
