Let's have a look at DOOM's closed Beta at the glorious resolution of 4K, showcasing some stunning visuals.

These screenshots come from the PC version of DOOM 2016, which uses the companies new id Tech 6 Engine, an engine that is designed to deliver an exceptional level of detail though we will not know until  the game releases later this year exactly how much of a toll that will have on our hardware.

id software are building this game from the ground up to be everything that they believe that a modern DOOM game should be, delivering a game that both looks great, runs at a high framerate and most importantly looks very fun to play. Hopefully this game will be everything it promises to be when t released on PS4, Xbox One and PC on May 13th, but we will be testing the PC version on day 1 so that we can give you all an idea of what performance to expect from the title.

Below are the PC system requirements for the beta of the game, which are designed for 60+ FPS gameplay at a resolution of 1080p, though please remember that these requirements may not be representative of the final version of the game. 


Recommended Spec (1080p)

  • Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
  • Intel Core i7-3770 or better / AMD FX-8350 or better
  • 8GB RAM
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (4GB) or better / AMD Radeon R9 290 (4GB) or better
  • Up to 22GB HDD space
  • Steam account
  • Broadband internet connection

TBH, looks like running UT4 on low/medium... not that impressed with this yet. I imagine it looks better 'in motion' though. (well it better do DOOM should be fast) if they try to pull any of this 30 fps bullcrap they won't get far.Quote
