Portable displays are a convenience product, something which is designed to enable multi-screen productivity with notebooks, turning a basic notebook into a gaming workstation. At ASUS' ROG division, these portable displays lacked that little bit of panache that their brand is known for, so they decided to crank things up to the next level. 

Do you know who also travels? esports teams! Talented gamers that require portable monitors with the refresh rates and other capabilities that are required for top-tier gaming performance. Meet the ROG Strix XG17, the humble portable monitor in a ROGified state. 

The ROG Strix XG17 packs a 17.3-inch IPS panel, complete with an adaptive-sync range of 48Hz to 240Hz, The screen sports Micro HDMI 2.0 and USB Type-C display connectivity, enabling both PCs and consoles to be used with the screen, facilitating smooth gameplay. A pair of 1-watt speaker will also ensure the players have audio if required. 

Inside the screen, there is an internal batter, which can last around three hours during gaming workloads, which should be long enough to reach a suitable charging location.

If you are a gamer on the go and fancied a portable monitor, ASUS now has a high-end option for you, merging a high-quality IPS screen with adaptive sync capabilities and a refresh rate that can match many of today's highest-end monitors. 

ASUS claims that their ROG Strix XG17 240Hz display will release soon, but at this time we do not know the pricing or final release date of this product.
