ASUS Release Ultra Low Power GTX 950 with no PCIe Power

ASUS has released a new version of their GTX 950, one that has a decreased TDP and doesn’t require a PCIe power connection, allowing the GPU to run at reference GTX 950 speeds without the need for more power than the PCIe lane on your motherboard can provide.

The original GTX 950 had a TDP of 90W, requiring a PCIe power connector as it is consumed more than the 75W power that can come from a PCIe lane. ASUS’ new version of the GTX 950 has a reduced TDP, allowing the GPU to run without a 6-pin power connector.
