At PAX West, 343 industries have been showcasing Halo Wars 2, an RTS game which will be arriving on both Windows 10 PC and Xbox One on February 21st 2017. 

Below we have ten minutes of footage which showcases the first mission of the game, showcasing some of the human and covenant units with commentary which details some of the games multiplayer modes. 

343 Industries Studio Head Dan Ayoub has stated that Halo Wars will offer a whole new way to play an RTS game, with Halo Wars 2 featuring several new modes which will be playable in as little as 5-7 minutes. Dan Ayoub's full quote can be found below. 

 

 One of the modes, which I can only tease for the time being, is actually a completely new way to play a RTS. It really takes standard RTS gameplay and turns it on its head. And that’s a mode that can be played in a shorter time frame as well, like five, six, seven minutes.

 

 

Halo Wars 2 is being developed by Creative Assembly, the UK-based developer behind the Total War Series and Alien Isolation. Creative Assembly has shown with Total War: Warhammer that they are more than capable of creating a great strategy game with 3rd party IP, though judging by these screenshots this game looks like it will be

I bought into the franchise at first, but also lost interest. I love all space game derivatives. MDK & MDK 2 was the first games I bought that got me into PC gaming, best games ever made imo. Wished they continued.Quote
