My Thoughts

We at OC3D are big fans of MSI's recent AM3+ motherboards, as from our experience these motherboard perform admirably and also bring the AM3+ socket a much needed upgrade in terms of it's featureset.

This motherboard looks very similar to the MSI 970 Gaming motherboard that we used in our FX 8320e review, though this board sports USB 3.0, an upgrade top the 990FXA chipset and USB 3.1 ports.  Sadly this board does not include and mSATA or M.2 slots which is now common on Intel Motherboards.

Loving the look of that board. Finally some good AM3+ boards are appearing.

This would go nicely with the FX8320e!Quote

Never really liked the chipset names of AMD's chips too. '990FX' sounds like a skateboarding trick to me. Why MSI added an 'A' to that is a mystery though.Quote

Seems a pointless motherboard since AMD abandoned AM3+ anyway, and there are plenty of better ones allready knocking around.
(990FXA is just basically less pcie lanes than 990FX)Quote
