Intel will reveal their 8th Generation of Core CPUs on August 21st

Intel has officially announced that they will be announcing their new 8th Gen Core CPUs on August 21st, at an event which will take place at 8 am PDT. This event will be livestreamed globally, with Intel showcasing new products that have been designed for Intel's latest processors.

Looking at Intel's marketing materials it looks like it will be a mobile centric reveal, with Intel's announcement using a notebook to highlight their 8th generation of processors. At this time it is unknown whether or not Intel will be revealing new desktop products at this event.

On Aug. 21, Intel will unveil the 8th Generation Intel Core processor family on Facebook Live.

Watch as two exciting moments align: the Great American Solar Eclipse and the unveiling of Intel’s most powerful family of processors for the next era of computing. Hear from those who are at the center of creating this technology and from creators who are using the power of 8th Gen Intel Core technology in new and exciting ways.

Intel has also given us eight reasons to tune into this event, though sadly these reasons do not give any real information about what to expect at this event.

Eight Reasons to Tune In

  1. - Don’t be caught in the dark. Learn how the 8th Gen Intel Core processor family will offer blazing fast performance.

  3. - Discover how immersive experiences will bring you from spectator to participant with 8th Gen Intel Core processor capabilities.
  4. Don’t just take our word for it. See the power of 8th Gen Intel Core technology come to life in the hands of a VR creator and imaging technologist.
  5. - Get a sneak peek at some of the amazing system designs based on 8th Gen Intel Core processors.
  6. - Start planning for what new 8th Gen Intel Core processor-based device to purchase in the holiday season and even before.
  7. - Don’t worry, you won’t miss the solar eclipse. Tune in before it descends upon Oregon and the West Coast and then makes its way across the U.S.
  8. - See how the 8th Gen Intel Core processor is designed for today and what comes next.

Intel will reveal their 8th Generation of Core CPUs on August 21st

Intel typically released their next generation CPU architectures on mobile platforms before making the move to desktop, which would suggest that this is a mobile centric, perhaps mobile-only event.

Might actually get a decent mobile CPU... Oh wait it's Intel. They'll just charge an obscene amount of money and only release it for i7...Quote

Well, hate or no hate, I am happy with this news and am eagerly awaiting for the postman to ring my doorbell. This better not be a mobile only event (looks like it though).Quote

Right after I read that my postman rang mine lol. Funny how things like that work

I do hope they seriously overhaul their mobile lineup. Just so weak and no improvements over the years.Quote
