Intel confirms that B460 and H410 motherboards will not support 11th Gen Rocket Lake processors

Intel has confirmed that their Z490 and H470 chipset motherboards will support the company’s upcoming 11th Generation Rocket Lake processors, provided that their motherboard’s BIOS/UEFI is updated to support these CPUs.

In the announcement below, Intel has confirmed that users of B460 and H410 motherboards will not be given the same treatment, revealing that these motherboards will be incompatible with Rocket Lake despite the fact that both chipsets use Intel’s LGA1200 socket. Intel has made their B460 and H410 motherboards obsolete with this move, providing their users with no upgrade headroom beyond Intel’s 10th generation of Core processors.

Intel has made their B460 and H410 motherboards obsolete after a single product generation, even though Intel will not be changing their CPU socket or socket layout with 11th Generation Rocket Lake CPUs. This move will undoubtedly anger B460 users, especially those looking forward to Intel’s Rocket Lake launch.
