Intel are Planning to Cut Jobs this Month

It looks like Intel are planning to cut jobs and reduce overall spending in the second half of 2015 according to a leaked memo from the company. The Memo did not stat how many jobs would be axed, but that cuts will begin on June 15th.

The Memo said this;

“We'll prioritise investments, slow down hiring, and drive other efficiencies, including a performance-based involuntary separation package.

“We need to reduce overall spending for the second half of the year.

“Some of this will come from reductions in employment and some from other spending cuts. Employee reductions will vary by business group."

Intel currently employs around 106,000 people worldwide, and at this moment we do not know who or where jobs will be cut. Intel says that they plan on driving efficiency and reducing overall spending after it has revealed that sales have been down 8.4% year-on-year.

Intel is the clear market leader on the CPU market, who unlike AMD have been able to product large amounts of profit year after year. Intel is clearly a company which will not be going anywhere anytime soon, being able to consistently provide the market with great new products and produce profit year after year.
