AMD's Ryzen Threadripper 2nd Gen 2950X is now available to order

AMD's Ryzen 2nd Generation Threadripper processors are having a staggered launch, with AMD kicking off proceeding with the company's insane 32-core flagship, the Threadripper 2990WX, which now retails in the UK for £1,699.99

Today marks the launch day for AMD's Ryzen 2nd Generation 2950X processor, a direct replacement for the company's 1950X processor, featuring reduced memory latencies, increased clock speeds and an improved core boosting algorithm over its last-generation counterpart.

With the Threadripper 2950X, AMD is delivering more performance for a smaller investment, releasing for $899 in the US and £849.99 in the UK (Pricing Via Overclockers UK). Last year, AMD's Ryzen Threadripper 1950X released for $999, offering customers a faster processor for a lower price tag.

Below are the full specifications for AMD's Ryzen Threadripper lineup. Our full review for AMD's Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX and Threadripper 2950X is available to read here

More Threadripper 2nd Generation processors will be released later this year, with AMD's 12-core and 24-core 2920X and 2970WX being set for an October release.

Sadly, AMD's Ryzen Threadripper 2950X processors are not available to ship today in the UK, likely thanks to delayed shipments from overseas suppliers. Pre-orders for the Threadripper 2950X are available starting today at most major components retailers, including Overclockers UK and Scan.
