AMD reveals the pricing and release date of their enhanced Ryzen 7000X3D processors

Ryzen 7000X3D is coming on February 28th and April 6th

AMD’s bringing their chip-stacking 3D V-Cache technology to market once again with their Ryzen 7000X3D series of processors, CPUs that are optimised for both gaming and productivity workloads to deliver best in class performance for gamers, content creators, and workstation users.

With 3D V-Cache, AMD are adding additional L3 cache to their Ryzen 7000 series AM5 processors to accelerate workloads that benefit from faster-access to data. Gaming is a specific workload that tends to benefit greatly from these enlarged caches, delivering staggering performance gain in many titles. With their X3D series processors, AMD believes that they have created the best gaming processors available, and they will becoming available later this month.

AMD’s Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 9 7900X3D will become available on February 28th and their lower-end Ryzen 7800X3D will become available on April 6th. Below are the prices and specifications of these new AM5 processors.

  Cores/Threads Boost/Base Frequency Cache (L2+L3) TDP MSRP
Ryzen 9 7950X3D 16/32 5.7/4.2 GHz 144 MB 120W $699
Ryzen 9 7900X3D 12/24 5.6/4.4 GHz 140 MB 120W $599
Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8/16 5.0/4.2 GHz 104 MB 120W $449

AMD’s new Ryzen 7000X3D processors will be supported on all of AMD’s AM5 series motherboards, though many motherboards will require a BIOS update to properly utilise AMD’s Zen 4 X3D silicon. Thankfully, all AM5 motherboards can have their BIOS updates without an installed processor, making BIOS updating a non-issue.
