Raijintek create an entirely passive CPU liquid cooler
This article was possible thanks to information provided by Wraith on the OC3D Forums.
Raijintek has created an entirely passive CPU liquid cooler, which can function without any fans or even a pump, making this a completely silent cooler than consumes no power.
In essence, this cooler functions like a heat pipe, using phase change cooling to quickly transport heat from the water block to the radiator, where the radiator can passively cool the vapour into a liquid which then returns to the pump. Rajintek says that they have patented their new passive liquid cooling technology for most applications and that they will be releasing products based on this technology very soon.
At this time we do not know what kind of thermal performance this technology can provide, as this units passive nature may limit this cooler to lower TDP applications. Hopefully, we will learn more about a consumer version of this product soon.
