SteelSeries Siberia V2 Special Edition Pink

Help a good cause and get a great product

SteelSeries Siberia V2 Special Edition Pink

Regular readers of OC3D, and if you're not regular you should be, will know that the only thing we are more passionate about than technology is a good cause. Few causes are better than Breast Cancer awareness, one of the most common types of cancer around. Our American readers will be aware that many major sports regularly change their gear for pink ones in support, so if wearing pink is good enough for Tom Brady and Joey Votto, it's good enough for us.

What has this to do with today's review I hear you cry. Well SteelSeries have produced a special edition of one of the best all-round headsets on the market, the Siberia V2, and if you purchase this Pink Special Edition via their website they will donate 10% of the purchase price towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. There has never been a more important reason to get your hands on one of our favourite headsets.

The Pink edition comes in the standard excellent SteelSeries packaging, with the classy black and grey highlighted only by the model name in orange.

This is definitely not on of those token efforts. Every part of the Siberia V2 is pink except for the headband and the ear cushions. Rather than a USB connection these come with the regular 3.5mm jacks, allowing you to use the headset with a variety of sources.

We've always been big fans of the SteelSeries Siberia V2 here at OC3D.

The open back design gives a wonderful sense of space to your audio, whether you are gaming, watching films or just pounding your ears with the latest tunes. Of course this does mean that those of you who demand nothing but thumping bass at the expense of clarity might be disappointed, but for everyone else who wants a headset that can handle any source with aplomb, then you can do much worse than the Siberia V2.

The microphone can be placed wherever you desire and, although it isn't active noise-cancelling, it does a great job of making you heard clearly whether you're shouting at your team-mates or talking to your mum.

Comfort is, as always, exceptional. The ear covers are soft and the extremely light weight of the Siberia V2 as a whole mean you can wear them for long periods without suffering from fatigue or sweaty ears.

If you've been looking to buy the Siberia V2 then now is definitely the time as you don't just get the excellent headset for your money but also help the eternal fight against breast cancer. As one of the most well rounded audio solutions at a very affordable price-point, we're happy to award the SteelSeries Siberia V2 Special Edition Pink our OC3D Silver Award.

Thanks to SteelSeries for sending the Siberia V2 SE Pink Edition in for us to see. Discuss your thoughts in the OC3D Forums.
