Toshiba Memory Europe has announced two new M.2 NVMe SSDs, each of which merges 96-layer TLC NAND memory, and SLC cache and PCIe 3.0 x4 capabilities to deliver stellar performance for gamers and enthusiasts alike.

The RD500 sits at the high-end with an 8-channel memory controller which packs between 500GB and 2TB of storage capacity to deliver sequential read/write speeds of up to 3,400/3,200MB/s and delivers random read and write performance up to 685,000 IOPS and 625,000 IOPS respectively. On top of this the drive ships with a 5-year warranty.

More budget-oriented buyers will be interested in the RC500, which offers a less capable 4-channel controller to deliver sequential read speeds of up to 1,700MB’s and sequential write speeds of up to 1,600MB/s. This drive will be available in 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities. Full specifications for the drive are available below.

Both of these drives utilise the standard M.2 2280 form factor, making them suitable for both desktop PCs and notebooks. Both drives are due to release in Q4 2019.
