The latest Linux version of Mad Max now supports the Vulkan API (Open Beta), offering some huge performance increases over the original OpenGL version. 

  
At this time the Linux version is in beta and onle supports standard Linux distributions (not SteamOS), with no availability on the Windows version of the game. To access this beta players will need to use the password “livelongandprosper” in the game’s Betas tab, which will allos Linux users to acess this new version of the game. 

The difference between the Vulkan and OpenGL performance of this game is clear, showcasing exactly how much the Vulkan API impoves over OpenGL, making Vulkan the clear API of choice for Linux.

On PC most gamers have been focusing on the benefits of Vulkan and DirectX 12 over the older DirectX 11 API, lots of gamers have not been satisfied with the performance changes but when comparing Vulkan with the OpenGL API shows exactly how transformative these new APIs can be when used with Linux.
