AMD RX 580 overclocks to 1480MHz before launch

The Hong Kongese overclocker Lau Kin Lam has been able to get his hands on an AMD RX 580 and successfully overclock the GPU to over 1450MHz on the GPU core and had released benchmarks showcasing the GPU’s stock and overclocked GPU performance.

To start, the GPU used in here features a stock clock speed of 1360MHz, though this XFX GPU model is expected to be an Asia-only RX 580 variant. This GPU features a single 8-pin power connection and uses a full cover water block, allowing this GPU to be overclocked with ease.

The final overclock that was achieved on this GPU was 1480MHz (+120MHz) on the core and a memory clock speed of 8500MHz (+500).

The overclocker was able to achieve a stable overclock of 1500MHz, though this high overclock resulted in decreased GPU performance, making 1480MHz the highest performing overclock.

At stock, this GPU was able to achieve a 3DMARK Time Spy graphics score of 4311, with an overclocked score of 4664. Here the GPU overclock caused an increase in GPU performance of around 8%.
