AMD are expected to detail Zen+, Navi and Vega at their Financial Analyst Day

AMD are expected to detail Zen+, Navi and Vega at their Financial Analyst Day, where the company will be revealing details about their future plans.

At this event, which takes place on May 16th, will include presentations from Lisa Su, Mark Papermaster, Jim Anderson, Raja Koduri, Forrest Norrod and Devinder Kumar, essentially a who’s who of AMD’s corporate structure. Raja Koduri’s presentations will likely be the most interesting, as he will be speaking as the Chief Architect of AMD’s Radeon Technology Group, which means that he will be discussion future GPU plans.

This will not be Vega’s launch event, though it will likely give us a clearer indication of when Vega will launch, as right now AMD has only revealed that the new GPU will launch in Q2 2017.

On Tuesday, May 16, AMD will host its 2017 Financial Analyst Day at AMD headquarters in Sunnyvale, California. During the event, CEO Lisa Su, CTO Mark Papermaster, and CFO Devinder Kumar, among other senior business leaders, will provide a mid-year update on the company’s 2017 business plans, as well as look ahead at its long-term strategy, future technology and product roadmaps.

AMD will also likely be detailing Zen+/Zen 2 at this event, or at a minimum be talking about future Ryzen products like their Raven Ridge APUs and their Naples server platform.

Zen + is expected to offer higher levels of IPC than Ryzen/Zen, as can be seen on the slide below, though it is worth noting that Ryzen surpassed AMD’s expectations and achieved a 52% IPC increase rather than the 40% that they were originally aiming for.
