Intel Coffee Lake CPUs are expected to launch in early October – Leaked Prices?

Over the past few days, there have been several leaks surrounding the release of Intel’s Coffee Lake series of CPUs, all of which hint at a retail release on October 5th.
These CPUs will be the first of Intel’s 8th generation desktop offerings, coming on Intel’s latest 14nm FinFET manufacturing process and will use Intel’s upcoming Z370 chipset.

IO-Tech has revealed that appears to be EU pricing for Intel’s upcoming 8-series K CPUs, offering pricing that is higher than Intel’s existing i3, i5 and i7 offerings. That being said these new CPUs will offer more raw CPU cores than their older-generation counterparts, so a price increase is expected.

Below is IO-Tech’s leaked pricing. These prices have not been officially confirmed by Intel and should not be considered as anything other than a rumour.

– Core i3-8350K €199 (4 cores, 4 threads)
– Core i5-8600K €299 (6 cores, 6 threads)
– Core i7-8700K €419 (6 cores, 12 Threads)

Below is the current EU pricing of Intel’s Kaby-Lake series equivalents (via Caseking.de), which are cheaper but offer lower core counts.

With the release of AMD’s Ryzen series CPUs Intel has been placed in a tough position, one where the need to reconfigure their desktop lineup to offer greater levels of competition. Coffee Lake is Intel’s response to Ryzen, offering more cores and threads on their desktop platform than ever before.
