Arctic cooling has announced which of their coolers will be AM4 compatible

Arctic cooling has today announced which of their existing CPU coolers will be AMD socket AM4 compatible, which actually includes most of their older CPU cooler lineup.

Coolers like the Alpine 64, Freezer 7 Pro, Freezer 13 and Freezer Extreme are already compatible with AMD’s socket AM4, as they use AMD’s stock AM2-style clip mounting system, which is also compatible with AMD’s AM4 mounting system. Newer coolers like Arctic’s Freezer A30, A11 and A32 will not be AM4 compatible, as they use AMD’s AM2 mounting holes rather than AMD’s reference “clip” solution, with the company having no plans to release a mounting kit upgrade pack for AM4.

Arctic’s Freezer A11 will be replaced by Arctic’s upcoming Freezer 12, which will feature support for AM4. with the company also replacing their Freezer A32 ith their AM4 compatible Freezer A33. Arctic will not be releasing AM4 upgrade kits for their A30, A11 and A32 coolers.

Arctic cooling has announced which of their coolers will be AM4 compatible

Moving to their Liquid Freezer series of AIO liquid coolers, Arctic has announced that they will be releasing an AM4 mounting kit sometime in Spring 2017, though the company has not released how much this upgrade kit will cost. We hope that Arctic will follow the example of other CPU cooler manufacturers and release these upgrade kits for free to their users.
