Capcom details major Dragon’s Dogma 2 update

A large update is coming to Dragon’s Dogma 2 this month, but don’t expect performance improvements

Capcom has released details for their next major Dragon’s Dogma 2 update for the game’s PC and console versions. This patch is due to release this month, and it will bring changes to the game’s Pawns and controversial Dragonsplague mechanic.

Starting with Dragonsplague, Capcom has noted that infections frequency has been decreased and infection is now more noticeable on affected NPCs. IE, infected Pawns will have more noticeable glowing eye effects.

Various fixes have also been made to improve Pawn behaviour and dialogue. Now, Pawns will be less likely to fall of cliffs. With this upcoming update, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be less likely to crash or freeze under “specific circumstances”. Planned release notes for Dragon’s 2’s upcoming update is available in the Tweet below.

Sadly, this planned update makes no mention of performance improvements for the game on PC and consoles. Honestly, we think this is one of the biggest problems that face Dragon’s Dogma 2 players on PC. There’s a reason why we have called this game’s performance profile a “mess“.

On PC, many gamers are expecting CPU-focused performance optimisations, and support for both DLSS and FidelityFX Super Resolution based Frame Generation. These are highly sought after features on PC, especially given how CPU-limited this game can be.
