Battlefield 4 Budget Build Performance

Battlefield 4 Budget Builds

Futuremark's PCMark benchmarks are great for testing the overall performance of a system. Tests include processor performance, web browsing, spreadsheets and image manipulation to name a few, and the results should indicate how well the system performs.

PCMark Vantage

PCMark 7

In these CPU orientated tests the system actually does surprisingly well. Considering the processor itself only has half as many cores as the i3, we were expecting far closer scores. However, since the PCMark tests do test the memory and graphics capabilities to an extent as well, and so it's a reasonable assumption that it's the GPU pulling the system up in this case.

My steam box/LAN box was going to be an itx system for around the same price and its amazing how much more expensive the ITX AMD motherboards are. I had to really scale down the graphics (to a 650ti) and get a tiny SSD in order to stay in budget. All the good motherboards cost more than the cpu :l. Thats the issue with cheap OCable cpus I guess :s. In the end I also had to settle with this as a build. It was an easy sell though .

Interesting how surprisingly good the pentiums are at gaming. I really was expecting it to struggle alot more than it did. I wouldn't want a pentium for games like Star Citizen though.Quote

Going to show my brother in law this before he gets a console, nothing wrong with a console but he's turning what was once a powerful rig of a Core 2 Duo, Asus P5B Deluxe, 8GB RAM and a 4850 into a bit of a NAS as his NAS box is broke, and will get a console as well.

Keep telling him to join these forums and look at some of the smaller builds.

Edit: Okay there is something not right if my rig is only doing 20fps with Arkham Origins!Quote
