The memory bandwidth test in SiSofts Sandra gives similar results to AIDA (about 20GB/s) but has a clear preference for higher MHz than tight timings.
Cache and Memory Bandwidth
Despite this apparent lack of bandwidth seen above, when taken as a whole across the system the Ripjaws X actually comes out on top. This might be due to all four Dual-Channel slots being filled on our motherboard. How it works 'behind the scenes' isn't clear.

exactly where i am at with my Vengeance 1600CL9 sticks. Cannot hit 1866 not CL8 with 1.65V, but does 9/9/9/24/1T at 1.5V.
Liked the review, like the way you point to solid gear for a proper price and that not being bleeding edge as some sort of failure.
man.....its kinda hard to believe how cheap ram has got over the past cppl years.......12gigs in 2008??? what was it???? 4-5 hundred???
Why would anybody need this much ram unless your running a server or some ram heavy programs. I think anything over 8GB ram is overkill.
