Gigabyte HD7970 OC Review

Test Setup

Gigabyte HD7970 OC Windforce Edition
Catalyst HD7970 Drivers 11.12
Intel Core i7-3960X @ 4.6GHz
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
2x Corsair AX1200W
Corsair GTX8
Corsair H100
Noctua NF-F12 Fans
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Despite coming from the factory at 1000MHz you know we wouldn't just leave it at that. Some gentle tweaking later and the Gigabyte is rock-solid stable at a stunning 1300MHz. Hopefully the results will bear out our monster overclock.

Gigabyte HD7970 OC Review Overclock

Let's get one thing straight, this is whisper quiet. It's no louder than the Noctua's on our H100. It's not only about noise though, look at those temperatures. The coolest HD7970 by about 10°C!!
