Intel i7 4790K Devils Canyon CPU Review
New Features
This is very much a minor update rather than the major change we usually expect from the next release of CPU’s. Even Intel are calling this just a refresh, so there is very little new. When the main shouting point is that there is a new Thermal Interface, you know that this wont be something you should rush out and upgrade from your i7-4770K.
The most important change will be for those of you who prefer to run your processors at stock. The i7-4790K has a 500MHz boost when compared to the i7-4770K. Whether this means that we’re going to get extraordinary overclocks, or if Intel are just eating into the headroom that was already there, we’ll find out on the next page.
