ASUS Maximus V Extreme Review
Brand identity is one of the cornerstones to any business, and it says a lot for how imprinted in our consciousness the ROG branding has become that even a glance at the box and you instantly know who makes it and what it is. We've seen so many come through our offices that we're becoming a little blasé and sometimes wish for a design refresh, but we understand that the big red monolith is hard to ignore.
Inside we have probably the largest collection of accessories we've ever seen. 8 SATA cables, SLI and Crossfire bridges for everything from two cards to four, ROG Connect, USB 2.0 backplate, E-SATA, ProbeIt, two WiFi antennas, the OC Key and it's connectors as well as the multi-purpose mPCIe card with Bluetooth and WiFi built in. And we haven't even mentioned the excellent documentation or IO shield. Suffice to say there is enough plastic bags in this box to choke a whole flock of geese.
Here is the main event, the Maximus V Extreme in all its glory. Red and black is a combination that will never go out of style. It's just classical, purposeful and, most importantly, screams ROG.
