Up Close The cooler

Up Close  The Cooler

The cooler comes to you fully assembled, so no need to be strimming your fingers trying to attach fans.  As previously stated is of the top down type. A single 135mm be quiet silent wings fan sits atop the Aluminium finned cooler. The fan is PWM controlled operating up to 1500rpm. At this speed the rated noise output is given as 24.4 dB-A, which might sound a lot, but as we know rated figures can vary massively across the spectrum of manufacturers.  Using the "Mark I Eardrums" I have fitted into my interior Auditory canals I can tell you in more subjective terms that this is actually one of the quietest fans I've heard, with it only just audible at full tatt and essentially silent at lower rpm.  But then, be quiet are well know for making quiet fans so I guess we shouldn't be too surprised.

4 x 8mm heat-pipes lead down from the 53 Aluminium fins to a CNC machined contact plate, turning through 180 degrees as they do so.  Both the contact plate and the pipes are Nickel plated copper, and are finished to a high degree.  The fins themselves have serrated edges in a move to better the heat exchange on the leading edges, and are separated from the fan by means of rubberised isolation dampeners.
