Zotac unleash the world’s fastest air cooled GeForce GTX400 Series Graphics Cards.
Zotac have taken air-cooled performance to the next level, raising performance levels of the GeForce GTX 400 series to unprecedented levels. The Zotac GeForce GTX 400 series AMP!® Editions go beyond overclocking and feature enhanced upgrades over standard GeForce® GTX 400 series graphics cards.
“We wanted to transform the ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 400 series graphics cards into something unique with our flagship AMP!® Edition,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director of Zotac. “The result is the world’s fastest GeForce® GTX 400 series graphics cards that retain conventional air cooling.”
Zotac completely tweaked the GTX400 PCB to maximize performance and overclocking headroom. They then completely revamped the cooling system to improve temperatures and reduce noise levels. The new cooling system features a pure copper base and heatpipes, attached to aluminium fins with a pair of high-performance 92mm fans for an optimal balance of airflow and noise.
Both cards recieve hefty overclocks from nVidia’s reference clocks. The GTX480 comes in at 756MHz GPU, 1512MHz shader and 3800MHz on the memory, while the GTX470 is clocked at 656MHz GPU, 1312MHz shader and 3402MHz memory.
These cards look set to rock the foundations of air-cooled performance. I’ve spotted the GTX480 AMP! on sale for around £470 but haven’t seen the GTX470 AMP! anywhere yet, I have no doubt that these cards will pop up at the bigger retailers soon though.
