Custom graphics card maker XFX has sent out its new custom designed Radeon HD 6850 card to retailers. Based on the AMD Radeon HD 6850 reference design, the new card boasts of a custom dual-slot cooler for extra efficient cooling.
The new Radeon HD 6850 is the third card from XFX based on this reference design. The major change in this card is that it has been given a non-reference dual fan cooler, which features two fans and two copper heatpipes.
No changes have been made to the reference card clocks, so the new XFX card has the GPU running at 775 MHz and the memory at 4000 MHz. It still comes with 960 Stream processors and has 1GB of GDDR5 memory with a 256-bit interface. Of course, with the custom cooler on board, chances are that the card is more than capable of handling of bit of tweaking and overclocking. Other features include dual-DVI, HDMI, and DisplayPort outputs.
The card has already reached retailers and can be found carrying a price tag of $195.
