It seems Nvidia is really looking to put the pressure on AMD as new details of their upcoming GTS 450 card have come to light. Intended to be a more mainstream-level card, the GTS 450 will based on the GF106 architecture and will feature 1GB of GDDR5 memory on a 128-bit bus.
Interestingly enough, it seems the card may not have a Nvidia reference design. If nothing else, it won't be bound by one anyways. Thus, graphics card manufacturers will be free to tinker with things as they please, which could result in some interesting offerings indeed.
The GTS 450 is expected to hit the market some time late next month. Currently there is no concrete word on possible pricing. Based on our previous report back in May of newer Fermis, we could be seeing a price somewhere around the $180 mark, though seeing as the GTX 460 came in below its expected price it could be even lower.
