NAS devices that can rip CDs are still in their infancy and not very popular, but RipNAS believes otherwise. After launching its first CD-ripping NAS device in February, the company has introduced two new Statement devices to virtually capture the market.
The first of its kind Statement SSD comes in a visually stunning silver box that boasts of a dual-core Intel Atom CPU, 2GB RAM and four USB 2.0 ports. Based on Windows Home Server, it comes with 500GB storage capacity through two 250GB SSDs.
The other version is Statement HDD, which features a massive 3TB storage capacity through its two 1.5TB drives. Both devices have the ability to handle variety of tasks including CP ripping, media streaming and networked file storage. According to RipNAS, the best feature of both devices is that unlike traditional CD-ripping devices, these are completely silent.
While the company has remained silent on pricing, the devices are not expected to come cheap keeping in mind their top-of-the-line specifications and lack of competition.
