Solid state memory manufacturer Patriot Memory yesterday took the wraps of its latest offering – the Torqx TRB series of SSDs. According to Patriot Memory, the new SSD series offers improved system responsiveness with quicker boot times and shorter application loading times over traditional hard disk drive storage solutions.
The Torqx TRB series drives are based on JMicron’s JMF616 controller and use MLC NAND Flash chips. Patriot has stuck to its standard 2.5in aluminum casing for both the drives of this series, which features 64MB of cache and offers a SATA 3.0Gbps interface. The 32GB drive, which actually comes with a JMF612 controller, will give users read and write speeds of up to 245MB/s and 60MB/s respectively.
The larger, 64GB SSD on the other hand can clock up read and write speeds of up to 260MB/s and 115MB/s respectively. Patriot Memory has announced its latest addition to its solid state drive lineup, the Torqx TRB SSD. Based on JMicron's JMF616 controller, the new Torqx TRB will be available in 32 and 64GB capacities.
TRIM support and a 3-year warranty are common for both drives, while the price has been set at €80 for the 32GB model and €120 for the 64GB one.
