OCZ Technology announces world’s fastest 4GB DDR2 PC2-9200 Flex II series

OCZ Technology Group have issued a press release unveiling their new high-speed, high-density Flex II memory modules.  They state that they "harness the overclocking capabilities of water cooled systems".

These premium modules run at incredibly fast DDR2-1150 speeds with timings of CL 5-5-5-18 and are designed with OCZ thermal management innovation of hybrid water and passive cooling.  They can be integrated into an already existing water-cooled system or stand alone and be cooled passively.

“One of the side effects of extreme memory speeds is an increase in performance robbing heat, and the new Flex II modules are among the most powerful memory solutions in the market place yet are able to remain cool and stable with an innovative new cooling design,” commented Dr. Michael Schuette, VP of Technology Development at OCZ Technology. “The thermal power is addressed using what we believe is the most advanced memory cooling solution currently available, suited for either liquid or air cooling system configuration to unleash the full power of 4 GB of DDR2 at the highest possible frequency.”

OCZ state that the Flex II heat management solution enables this high frequency memory to operate within an optimal balance of extreme speeds and low latencies without the high temperatures that inhibit or damage the module.  The new heat-spreader design incorporates dedicated channels directly over the module's IC's for optimum heat transfer away from the chips.

The PC2-9200 Flex II modules are optimized for the latest platforms and will be available in 4GB (2 x 2048MB) dual channel kits.  The modules use  2 x 1/4" ID barbs which are included in package along with all other necessary accessories needed to incorporate this memory straight into your water-cooling loop.  As with all OCZ memory, the Flex II series kit is backed by a Lifetime Warranty and industry-leading technical support.

I've had a little look around and can't actually find this kit in any online shops but I would imagine its wont be very long until they are available.

Do these modules wow the pants off you?  I for one think they look as good as any other RAM on the market, probably better.  The only other memory that I think stands up to it is the ReaperX.
