NVIDIA Prepares for Windows 7 RC with Driver Updates

Windows 7 is already in RC stage and Microsoft partners are rushing to update their drivers for the new OS. NVIDIA too has posted updated drivers for its GeForce graphics cards to coincide with the download availability of Window 7 RC.

Version 185.81 includes beta GPU drivers for GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9, 100, and 200-series cards. Drivers have been released for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and are reportedly more refined that the earlier version 185.71 drivers that were released for Windows 7 Beta 1.

The beta version drivers include support for all of Windows 7’s new GPU-accelerated Direct X APIs such as DirectX Compute, Direct2D, DirectWrite and DXVA-HD. According to NVIDIA, the new drivers not only improve overall gaming performance but also provide better stability to its GeForce platform.
