AMD's established leadership in performance-per-watt computing, extending from the datacenter to the desktop, allows businesses and consumers to benefit greatly from energy-efficient processors. The new energy-efficient AMD Athlon 64 processors 3500+ and 3800+ are based on 65nm technology. Using the reduced line widths enabled by 65nm technology, AMD can produce more processors on a 300mm wafer while manufacturing processors designed for low-power consumption, reinforcing AMD's commitment to energy-efficient computing. AMD processors based on 65nm technology can deliver outstanding performance and enable small form factor system designs.

Desktop systems based on AMD64 dual-core technology, including the AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor 6000+, benefit from AMD's open platform approach that enables superior technologies designed for outstanding mainstream PC experiences with leading-edge graphics performance, high quality video, and minimal idle power draw. These systems can also power Microsoft Windows Vista™ and run the visual, networking and security enhancements now available in the Vista operating system.
