Earlier this year, Microsoft gave word at CES that Xbox 360 users should expect their motion-sensing system, Project Natal, to be available by Christmas this year. Now it seems we have a more concrete timeframe. Microsoft Saudi Arabia marketing manager Syed Bilal Tariq told news station KSA 2 to expect worldwide availability of the platform in October.
"So I do have great news to share with everybody. Project Natal will be launched in Saudi Arabia the same time it will be launched in the world. That is going to be somewhere in October.
Microsoft will be in a position to confirm the date after E3, which is in June. But definitely, it is going to be October 2010."
It seems that this is not the first indication of an October release. In February, celebrity Jonathan Ross indicated this would be the case on his Twitter page. In addition to this, a listing for a Natal yoga game appeared on Amazon and GAME in March with an October expected release time.
If nothing else, this appears to be an official confirmation from Microsoft, though of course the American division has thus far declined to comment.
