15+ Hours Battery Life

MSI Wind U110 Eco NetbookMSI has launched it's latest Wind netbook, the 10 inch U110 Eco. Priced at $399.99 in the US (roughly £250 here) it is rather pricey for a standard 10 inch netbook - but it isn't. It boasts a 9 cell battery, which in turn yields longer battery life. The U110 Eco is equipped with an silverthorne-based Intel Atom Z530 working at 1.6GHz, paired up with Intel's SCH US15W chipset. This is slightly slower than the diamondville-based 1.6GHz Atom N270, although it uses less power.

It has a 10-inch screen with a 1024x600 resolution and features 1GB of DDR2 memory, 160GB hard drive, 802.11bgn WiFi, Bluetooth and 10/100Mbps LAN. Rounding it off are, three USB 2.0 ports, a multi-card reader, single VGA output and a 1.3 megapixel webcam. The larger than normal, 9-cell, 7800mAh battery according to MSI "provides powe for about 15+ hours". As usual, we are skeptical about the claims, but MSI are usually pretty close and with a battery of this size, it can't be that far off.
